A 4 Days Itinerary to Bangkok: What to do and see

After our successful and amazing trip to Phuket, we returned to Bangkok to explore this beautiful capital of Thailand. Famous around the world for its “East of Las Vegas” status, we were excited to see what this place had to offer. Our stay was of 3N /4 days. After coming out of the domestic airport we decided to take public transport in order to save money. We took Airport Rail link which is well connected to other BTS and MTR network and reached our destination Sathorn quickly and economically. As we didn’t have a lot of baggage, this was the best option for traveling.

We reached in the afternoon and after having lunch at a hotel and resting for an hour we stepped out soon to explore the nightlife of the city. The city is well connected through Bus, Underground Train and Sky Train. So it is best to travel through this public transport to avoid traffic and expense.

Let me share with you the best of the Bangkok you should explore while in the city.


Travel: There are many airlines that offer cheap and best airfare from India to Bangkok. Book well in advance to crack the best deal. As discussed in above paragraph, the public transport is the best option to travel within the city. A bus ticket will cost you THB 6 to 10 for a single journey and Train starts from THB 16 to 40 depending on the destination.

Accomodation: From cheap hostel in Khao san Road to budget hotel to Luxury one. This city had everything to offer for everyone. Depending upon your budget you can choose one. Booking hotel online is the best source as they always have the best deal.

Food: Thai is also famous for its food. You will find street food at every corner. Choose what you like and yes don’t forget to taste their Pad Thai. Exotic fruits, dried fruits will surely amaze you.

Places to Visit:

Siam Paragon Mall


One of the largest malls in the city. It is so huge and has so many things inside that you will get tired shopping and eating. This is located at the heart of the city and must see and visit for shopping lovers.

Sea Life Ocean World


This is located inside the Paragon mall in the basement. If you are a marine life lover than this is a treat for you. With lots of sea creatures to see. You can surely spend couple of hours inside.

Safari World


This is located at the outskirts of the city and visiting by Taxi or Car is advisable. Though Bus runs to the nearest Fashion mall but still you have to take a Taxi to reach the place. Divided into Safari Park and Marine Park, one can spend whole day here. You can see lots of animals like Zebra, Lion, Tiger, Giraffe etc here. The marine park runs lots of show throughout a day worth watching like Dolphin show, Spy war, elephant show etc.

Taining Floating Market

One of the popular and biggest floating market. This has to be a must visit in your list  Almost every traveller has a visit to a floating market in mind on his first trip to Bangkok

Khao san Road


Popular among bagpackers. This place will tell you a different story. You can find cheap hostels, beer, clothes etc. An evening spent here will be a memorable one .

Soi Cowboy


Well, well, well !! Who is not aware about the Bangkok nightlife. If you are a fan of such things than a visit to this place is a must. Even if you are not, Just walk through this lane to experience the dark life of this area.

Wat Pho, Wat Arun


There are lots and lots of temples in Bangkok. But out of all you must visit this two top temples in the city. Wat pho has a reclining buddha and Wat Arun is huge and historical attachment.

Grand Palace


Grand Palace is a complex of buildings at the heart of Bangkok. The palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam. The Grand Palace is made up of numerous buildings, halls, pavilions set around open lawns, gardens and courtyards. This will surely consume your half day. So plan accordingly and Yes Ladies make sure you wear full and loose dress else they wont allow you inside and you will be forced to buy clothes from the shop just outside the entrance.

Chatuchak Market


This is open only on weekend. This place is huge and you will find everything you want to shop at cheap rates. You just name it and they have it. Must must visit.

Indira Square Market

A must visit for every Indian. Here you can buy stuffs at a reasonable rates. Also there are many Indian restaurants around if you are looking for one.

Thai Massage

Last but not the least, don’t forget to have Thai massage when you visit this place. There is nothing like it. You will find massage parlour everywhere, just step out of your hotel and find nearest one. It starts from THB 250.

You can visit Bangkok any time of the year. The weather is not that extreme. You many want to avoid April, May as its usually hot season and July, August which is usually a wet season. Pack your bags and LEAVE !!!
