I’ve spent 2 years in London for higher studies before I returned to India in May 2011, I decided to visit Scotland.
As I had a limited budget and wanted to see this place, I chose Glasgow and Edinburgh for my visit , these two are main cities of Scotland and are major tourist attractions.
The hotels were costly in Edinburgh so I had booked a two night stay in Glasgow from Expedia. I got a good deal as I booked in advance. The hotel was just 10-15 minute bus ride from downtown Glasgow.
Now here’s the catch, I visited full city and tourist attraction in Glasgow then next day early morning I took a bus from Glasgow to Edinburgh which took 1 hour and 30 mins. I visited all tourist attractions in Edinburgh and completed the sight seeing in one day only. Later in evening by 8 pm I took a bus from Edinburgh to Glasgow and returned to my hotel by 10-11 pm. Next day I saw remaining tourist attractions of Glasgow before boarding a flight to London in evening.
I took a day Bus pass in Glasgow and Edinburgh to save money and travel all around the city.
This is how I saved money in hotel and travelling. had i booked a hotel in Edinburgh and taken a return flight from there, then my cost would have escalated by 20%. So, in all I saved 20% cost by going the smart way.
Below are the attractions which I covered in Edinburgh and Glasgow in this 2N/3D trip.
